Kelaniya students get bail

Twelve students of Kelaniya University, who had been earlier issued warrants over protesting against a court order, were released on two sureties of Rs. 100,000 each when they appeared in the Mahara Magistrate’s Court today.

The Magistrate ordered the students to appear in the Kiribathgoda Police every Sunday and ordered that the parents should be the surety bails of the students, the Police said. (LSP)

    Students do have some genuine grievances. Problems can be sorted out only if their is a dialogue and that too two way dialogue. Seeniboley believes only in one way dialogue that is imposition of his own will that is warped. Most ordinary citizens cannot afford private universities. We have to find a middle path that would combine state and private universities. If not we would be in for anarchy very soon. via DM iPad app
