The Deputy Chairman of the Kekirawa Pradeshiya Sabha, Sampath Herath was arrested this morning on charges of assaulting the Principal of the Thibbotuwawa Maha Vidyalaya yesterday, Police said.

It was reported that the arrested had assaulted the principal for keeping students including his child in the rain during a ceremony. Kekirawa Police are investigating.
