A coordinating officer of Deputy Minister Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan was shot dead by an unidentified gunman at his residence today, the Batticaloa police said.
He was in charge of the Puliyanthivu area in Batticaloa for the Deputy Minister. He was a former LTTE intelligence cadre, police said. A special team had been deployed by the police to arrest the suspects.
