DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi today said Tamils in Sri Lanka were put to "untold sufferings" and urged the Centre to insist on the island nation to settle "once and for all" the problem faced by them in that country.
"Tamils in Sri Lanka are put to untold sufferings...they are unable to return home. They are still kept in camps. Those who were sent back to their homes have not yet been provided sufficient safety as promised," he said at the concluding session of the World Classical Tamil Conference in Coimbatore today.
"No political solution has been found yet for Tamils in Sri Lanka, despite periodic assurances...this is a matter of pain and deep concern to the people who had gathered at the conference," Karunanidhi added. (PTI)

Srilankan government should act in a way to keep Tamils on it's side. Karunanidi is a Indian and he will reflect Indian foreign policy rather than genuine Srilankan Tamil's issues.

Why don't you'll settle Kashmir issue once in for all.....!!!!

Our President has replied Mr. Karunanidhi by saying that he cannot produce "instant" solutions like "instant noodles". So, Mr. Karunanidhi has to wait patiently however long it takes.

This man never fails to amuse us. SF rightly said these tamil nadu politicians are bunch of jokes.
Calistus Jayatilleke Monday, 28 June 2010 05:15 AM
This joker is hell bent on governing Sri Lankan Tamils whilst ignoring millions of problems in his back yard.

Who put the tamils into untold sufferings? Is it LTTE or SL Government. ? The damage inflicted by LTTE in 30 years to the Tamils possibly cannot be repaired , redressed and relieved in a short span of one or two years. The funniest aspect of the issue that everyone forget the atrocities of LTTE and are blaming the SL government. ????

First he should promote teaching Hindi in TN, accepting Hindi as the national language, re-instal Rajiv Ghandi statue in Madras than yelling hunters' preaching.

Karuna, don't ask for instant noodles from our President!
Shay Monday, 28 June 2010 09:13 AM
