Karunanidhi condemns U.S. stand on Sri Lanka

The U.S. government’s decision to support the new Sri Lankan government’s plans for a local inquiry into alleged wartime atrocities has evoked strong criticism from DMK leader M. Karunanidhi and PMK founder S. Ramadoss.

“The U.S. government’s move looks as if it wants to cover up the war crimes. I hope it will not happen. If Sri Lanka is allowed to conduct its own inquiry, the DMK will strongly condemn the U.S.,” Mr. Karunanidhi said in a statement.

Dr. Ramadoss said that though he was pained by the decision of the U.S. government, he was not surprised because he had expected it.

“I have been saying that we should not trust the U.S. as it would not hesitate to betray the interest of Tamils. My stand has been vindicated now,” he said.
Even the new Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickermesinghe, could not get justice for the Tamils as it was during his regime that efforts were made for the final war against the Tamils.

“The only ray of hope is the United Nations Human Rights Council. It should ensure that an international inquiry is ordered into the war crimes,” Dr. Ramadoss said.(The Hindu)

Mr Karunanidhi, you have been playing this type of politics with the lives of SL Tamils and winning elections. Your crocodile tears are not needed at this moment, shame on you when you leave the hunger strike after the meeting with Mukaji. President and PM of Sri Lanka have jointly made their commitment towards bringing War Criminals to books and to have remedy to injustice caused to Tamils during, later stages and even conclusion of the War. Tamils need a genuine reconciliation process, in which the perpetrators should realize their blunders towards humanity. We should go away from vengeance and go towards forgiveness. This will bring our communities together and make the Island a Great Nation.

Hah haha Haaa, see who is concerned of Tamils rights and war crimes in Sri Lanka now. Mr. Karunanidih you supported Mr. Mahinda with full of ur knowledge and did not care of what would happen to innocent people. YOU are never the leader of Tamils. Put on darker glasses so u cannot see the reality. Many important implementations are taking place in Sri Lanka. Justice is light. I hope so :-)

How about the crimes committed by the Tamils on the innocent Sinhalese? Will you ask the U.N. to check into those too? LTTE killed for 26 years with a lot of help from Tamil Nadu. As such you are accomplices and will share the guilt. We know how important the Eelam in Sri Lanka is for Tamil Nadu to separate from India.

The Tamils in Sri Lanka want peace and to be able to live in harmony with the other communities. The Tamils in India have nothing to do with this, and should know to mind their own business. Hope will this will sink into the busy bodies of Karunanidhi and Ramadoss.
