Kandy Mayor asked to leave his residence

Kandy Mayor Mahendra Ratwatte was advised to move out of his official residence temporarily over fears that the rock behind his residence might slide down, the NBRO said

The decision was taken after the prevailing heavy rains had compelled the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) to carry out a survey of the area for any possible dangers including earth slips. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
