what so ever the truth the JVP is on a down hill race.It will go to history like the CP or LSSP of SL. This is due to their pairing with the UNP who killed their comrades for short time gains. If the JVP were straight forward and did not play any underhand tricks then today they would have been a real strong political party. They have done this to SLFP in 1977 and the same people they helped to gain power massacred them all in 88/89without any mercy.Still they do not ask for an inquiry for the burning alive of their leader by the UNP but are asking for the jusice for Mr.Thajudeen! Many JVP supporters were massacred during 88/89 but they forgot about it. All of them died in vain!

SLMC won one seat by contesting separately in the Digamadulla district. Therefore I guess they are recognised as a separate party

This Parliament must safeguard the rights of all people more importantly the minorities. What has happened to TULF in early 80s under JRJ regime must not repeat.

how can SLMC be recognized as party in the parliament ,It too had contested in most of the part of SL in UNP ticket.Mr.Rawuf Hakkiem was No 1 in the UNP list in KandyIf they apply the same logic to SLMC it too can not be recognized as a party!!
Sanjeeva Jayewardene Friday, 04 September 2015 07:53 PM

Mokkan Friday, 04 September 2015 07:50 PM
OK, fine, can you show who got the numbers above 16, within UPFA,except SLFP, to claim the post?
Hiran Friday, 04 September 2015 07:40 PM
slfp is the largest party in the upfa who holds the most number of seats. so as soon as they signed the agreement they became part of the government. the speaker had no choice but to look for the next party who had the largest no of seats.
