The Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) said today it had decided to vote against the three gazette notifications permitting the setting up of a mixed development project and flash a red light at the Government which was veering off from its stated principles of creating a national economy.

JHU parliamentarian Athuraliye Rathana Thera said the party was not attempting to topple the Government but was showing it where it was going wrong.

“We supported the president to take office in 2005 and 2010 so as to create a national economy and move towards a better society. But we have our doubts now whether this Government moving towards that objective,” he said. (Ajith Siriwardana)

If you people show "Red Light" to Govt. then resign from your positions, rather than bluffing.

We as the loyal supporters to the JHU are not trusting the Party anymore... Staying with this corrupt Govt for the sake of perks are not endorsing by the majority of JHU supporters......

If the JHU intentions are sincere why not resign and join the BBS. This is the only way to show to the general Public of your thoughts.

    Jagath Friday, 25 April 2014 11:06 PM

JHU had a backbone to go against this. Comparatively JHU is 1000 times better than Lemon puff gang.

Ram Perera Friday, 25 April 2014 09:55 PM

This government will not listen to the voices of Religious dignitaries or the people but will do what they want. Going on the tourism issue it may be necessary to have casinos to attract tourists who spend money. Have the casinos in a restricted area, collect the maximum possible taxes from them
