Two jailors bailed

The two prison officers who were arrested today in connection with the accidental shooting of a passerby in Mt. Lavinia, while shooting at a escaping prisoner was granted a cash bail of Rs. 25,000 and a personal bail of Rs. 100,000 each.

The bystander was shot while the officers were shooting at a suspects known as “ Chooty Putha”  who escaped from the prison authorities’ custody, when he was being taken to the Mt. Lavinia on January 26th. (AW)
