All SL cricket Players should know that they have gain status because of the country. Also they should realise that they are earning abu 40 lakhs per month because of innocent people who are coming to see the matches by spending money though they are peniless. Malinga,If u are denided by your countrie's fans u'd be like a chewd chewingum. If you are denided by your countrie's Cricket board,u ?d probably play 3 years for Ambani's family.then u'll be dismissed like a old horse.U just throughly keep that point in your mind. via DM Android App

Those days Cricket is gentlemens' game. Sorbers,Frank Worrel, Clive LLoyd,Bradman, Tony Greg, Vivian Richards, Madugalle, Wettamuni, Walsh are few of them. Now cricket is not game. It is just a money making business. IPL is also responsible for this trend. Anyway Malinga should be banned for his poor and 3rd class conduct. Very bad example for school cricketers. His features & fashions are also not suitable for a cricketer. Punish him in order to teach a lesson to future Sri Lankan sportsmen.

    Tw Tuesday, 05 March 2013 12:00 AM

Now this is y these guys need agents, he was angry and provoked. He is no politician clearly was not in a mood to speak.. Media should not have irritated him. Let him do the job he does better than any one we have that is bowl. If sri Lanka can't afford him too bad. The cricket board has lots of money to waste and the officials to rob. via DM Android App

All those who blame malinga, haven't you ever said the wrong thing when you're angry? haven't you ever snapped at someone when you're in a bad mood? remember guys, these are just sportsmen. and cricket is their game. not diplomacy. one angry statement at a journalist (btw whose conduct we know nothing of) doesn't erase years of service to the country.

    Nawfal Wednesday, 06 March 2013 04:56 AM

First of all he is not contributing to test cricket. I don't understand
the reason to keep him in the team. one day matches are gambling and 20/20 are virus cricket. If SL board not take action this follow by other cricketers.

Even his recent performances do not warrant him a place in the Team and added to that this rowdy behavior. His behavior proves that money can't buy everything. He may be having luxurious life, but what he lacks is brain. That's the same thing which money can't buy,

Time and again he has proved that he belongs to a lwoer class and people like this must not represent the Country. It is a shame.

Media should respect the feelings of everyone. sportsmen are seasonal and they lose their prime form after a few years. So, it is natural that they try to get the maximum for their talent when it is in demand. A reporter who thrust the mike in the face of distraught person should consider the mental agony of the person. Now the whole media will hound Malinga until his life is destroyed.

    garawi Wednesday, 06 March 2013 05:30 AM

    Praneeth Wednesday, 06 March 2013 06:36 AM

Malinga was unnecessarily criticized by a reporter over a media channel recently. Any individual has the right to do whatever he/she wishes in life and it is same with Malinga too. It is his decision not to play Test Cricket and he must be having his own reasons for that.

In USA or Europe, if the press resorts to sort of action, certainly there will be a case of Deformation against the press and I think it’s time for people in SL also to take legal action against Press for unnecessarily looking into personal affairs of individuals.

Reporting must be “Responsible & Constructive Criticism” but not “Irresponsible & Destructive Garbage” – but this in no way an approval of Malinga’s abrasive behavior as he is a “Sporting Legend & an Ambassador of Sports” thus must be thoughtful in his conduct.

    Burul Wednesday, 06 March 2013 06:37 AM

    impotent or important ?

His despicable behavior has simply proved that he is not at all a cultured person. Perhaps, he is unaware that Cricket is a gentleman's game. One can just imagine how he would behave when he captains the team. Whatever it is, stern action should be taken against him. His actions veiled by money reveals his caliber.
