Infant seller arrested

Rangala Police today arrested a suspect who was on an attempt to sell a one and a half month old infant. The whereabouts of the suspect had been revealed when the Police arrested the infant’s mother, a resident of Panwila, Kandy.

The Police had then arrested the suspect who was attempting to sell the infant. Both the mother and the suspect were produced to the Theldeniya Magistrate Courts today and were remanded until September 29. (JAL)

    In addition to long term jail sentences, public caning should be introduced as a punishment to those found guilty with this type of offences.

    whole story is not revealed, but Legal hurdles should be eased to allow the adoption of less fortunate babies by the able person.
