India's Shree Renuka Sugars Limited is to set up a US$ 220 million sugar refinery plant at the Magam Ruhunupura Mahindaa Rajapaksa Port (MRMRP) in Hambantota, Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) said.

The firm yesterday signed a business venture agreement with the SLPA to this end for a term of 25 years.

The initial capacity of this plant is 2000 tons per day and it will be expanded up to 3000 tons per day subsequently. Raw sugar is expected to import by the business venture for refinement at this proposed plant.

sirisena, you seemed to be more concerned about Palestinians and Kashmirs than the starving people in your own country
If the Pakistanis want to feed the persecuted muslims they can do so without having to set to a sugar plant in Hambantota, the fact is they do not and cannot, even their own people.
First of all the Pakistanis should stop breeding terorists for export to the rest of the world and then the persecution will cease automatically

Why are we having Indian Hindu companies investing in Sri Lanka? The Zionist-Hindu-CIA have been actively trying to destabilize Sri Lanka and only friends we have are Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries. We should cancel this project and award it to a Pakistani company which will at least use the profits to help the persecuted Muslims in South Asia. Sri Lankans should be scared of doing business with Hindu-Zionist companies which are only interested in making profit. What about the poor starving Palestinians and Kashmiri Muslims.

Do not believe Indian companies. They talk and sign agreements only and no more. All are show ups like their bollywood films.
