nuclear technology is a very sensible part of science. And how things work in SL it is not advisable to play with this. Just see big projects like Norochcholai and Mattala airport. They were mods of money making for some influence people and not for the practice, and less harmful. but nuclear technology would cost lives! The statement "Discussions were held in a warm, friendly and cordial manner...." is almost anxious!

It must, even japan had bad experiences, it doesn't mean we have to rely on hydro for whole life...a good move..!!!

India is not a dependable neighbour. India let down SL many times in the global stage when we needed their support the most. Today India seems to be following Western predatory agendas, very much like the UN headed by a stooge, the YES man, Banki Moon. To maintain the balance of power in the Asian region, SL should concider bringing in China / Pakistan or Iran in to the picture.

This could be the worst and most costly mistake. Look at the Nuclear disaster in Japan. If there were to be a Nuclear disaster in a small country Like Sri Lanka that would be chaos for us and the whole region. Damage done by nuclear disasters take at least a couple of hundred years or more before the affected area can be safe for other use.
Look at other energy like wind, hydro, ocean, solar .

Nuclear cooperation and deals with India? Yes, we will not be the first to attack India, but if provoked .... no any other options, but to....

Can we first have uninterrupted power and water supply?

Lets at least get the trains running without collisions and on schedule. Then we'll think about nuclear power.
