India’s stand at the ongoing UN Human Rights Council meet in Geneva on the resolution against Sri Lanka over alleged war crimes would be taken based on the overall ties between the two neighbours and the sentiments in the country, External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna said on Thursday.
“Certainly we will take into account the overall relationship between India and Sri Lanka and the sentiments that are prevalent in our country. We will take every factor into consideration before we take a final call on our stand in Geneva,” he said.
Mr. Krishana’s comments come days after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa shot off two letters to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seeking India’s support to the U.S.-backed resolution against Sri Lanka for alleged human rights violations during the civil war.
Mr. Krishna also said India was providing a number of humanitarian aids to the internally displaced “Tamil - speaking brothers and sisters” in the island nation. He himself had seen renovation of schools and other works undertaken by New Delhi, he added. (Out look India)

our Minister is not sure whether India will support or not. But going by the circumstances in which India is currently in and the real facts about the concluded war in Srilanka, India will not and should not support SL in UN if it respects HR from the view point of an elected government as Srilanka is trying to compare and justify its actions based on what a terrorist outfit had done. We should not forget that an elected government has a responsibility towards its citizens - can it kill its own citizens? just because LTTE did it?

Please remember your hasty decisions when you gave life to the LTTE and forced your IPKF troops on us......... both backfired!

India will only support SL if resolution is passed at the session on the 23rd March 12. Otherwise she will watch and act. It is all about playing the politics in the right context

India keeps antagonizing SL, then wonders why SL keeps turning to China.
