More than thirty illegal children’s homes are in operation islandwide which are ill maintained and steps will be taken against them, Probation and Child Care Services Commissioner, Sarath Abeygunawardana told Daily Mirror online
Commissioner Abeygunawardana added that the bulk of these unauthorized homes were being maintained in the Western and Eastern provinces by Non Governmental Organizations (NGO).
Provincial officials have been informed regarding these unregistered children’s homes and action will be taken after gathering more information, he said (Daily Mirror online)
