Hirunika leads in Colombo

Western Provincial Council candidate Hirunika Premachandra has obtained the highest preference votes for the UPFA in the Colombo District with 139034 votes, while Udaya Gammanpilla has received 115637 votes.

From the UNP, SM Marikkar has received the highest preference votes with 67243 votes while former WPC Opposition Leader Manju Sri Arangala has received 45654 votes.

KD Lal Kantha has obtained 45460 votes from the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna while Susil Kidelpitiya has obtained 32918 votes from the Democratic Party.

People of Colombo have voted wisely and sent a strong message to the regime. These are few of my observations,
1. UPFA alliance is been rejected and people have voted for SLFP.

2. People wanted justice for Bharatha's killing even though government is trying to sweep it under the carpet.

3. Minority has lost their confidence in both UPFA and UNP because they have been used has guinea pigs to form governments but their grievances are not been addressed.

Hope the intelligent politicians will learn a lesson without brushing it out like they reacted to the UN issue.
