    MM Wednesday, 17 October 2012 07:13 AM

NO wonder..... EIDs will be declared by sightning of the new moon (you know very well) - NOT following SAUDI or other Muslim countries.....>>>!

    Rania Wednesday, 17 October 2012 07:45 AM

Day of Arafah is Thursday 25th October 2012. Please fast on that day. Insha Allah the sins of last year and the next year will be fogiven.
N.B This does not mean that one can continue to commit sin in the upcoming year, rather it portrays the virtue of fasting on the day of ‘Arafah, and the blessings to be obtained therein.

    Abdul Wednesday, 17 October 2012 08:00 AM

Not sure why some are fussy, respect the decision of the learned Ulema, the Sri Lankan Muslim scholars are most sought after in overseas because they are honest & good, Some people learn the religion on google search & give religious verdicts, they will have to answer to Allah on the Day of Judgement Insha Allah

    Shahir Wednesday, 17 October 2012 03:21 AM

The Scientists have predicted using all their millions of calculations that the full moon will be on a particular day.. has this ever been wrong.. or has anyone gone against it.. nop.. but only when it comes to muslims.. we have to go look for a moon sighting to decide.. what happened to just following the calender.. Official calender says 26th and we go and screw it up coz we cant see the moon and make it 27. Wonderful..

    HaBus Wednesday, 17 October 2012 11:33 AM

Please don't kill innocent animals on this day. Please !

    Kaslana Wednesday, 17 October 2012 12:03 PM

Mr. Adbul, If the "Ulamas" are scholars, then how come they make such a blunder? Why not Saudi Arabia itself employ them if they're correct than the Saudi Ulama's. Truth of the mater is that you "Thambi" brothers don't want to admit that they're a bunch of JOKERS inhaling Maligawatta "CRACK".

    aaa Wednesday, 17 October 2012 11:57 AM

you just encourage to fast only. And you are not supposed to decide days, 25th, etc

Alfonse Mendy Wednesday, 17 October 2012 12:27 PM

Never kill "innocent animals" denotes we must not eat meat/fish/seafood or even eggs( are supposedly chicks).. U must be a vegan. If u are not a vegan, then u must be foolish to make that statement:"Please don't kill innocent animals on this day"

    xlntgson Wednesday, 17 October 2012 01:28 PM

Practice what you are preaching! If the majority is vegetarian, the price of fish meat poultry won't be this high!

    Hussain Thursday, 18 October 2012 06:23 AM

    # Roshan: I cannot wait to see everyones face when there is nothing after death. Did anyone come back and say that there is a judgement by whom, by some imaginary god. I find it baffling that apparently intelligent people can still cling to this superstitious nonsense in the 21st century.

    Muhammad Thursday, 18 October 2012 06:53 AM

For indeed the Hand of Allaah is over the Jama'h

Wonder.....saudi announced eid wil be on friday.

    Hussain Tuesday, 16 October 2012 06:45 PM

This just goes to show that all these are man made stuff of no real significance, Just to get the people under control. That is what religions are all about. They put the fear of hell as an excuse. If people are good only because of the fear of hell, it says so little of humans. One must be good for goodness sake and not for eternal prize promised after death.

    mohammed Tuesday, 16 October 2012 06:48 PM

crazy decision how come Saturday , now these guys started to kill the religion even

Gam Pappa Tuesday, 16 October 2012 07:50 PM

It is ruined. I heard the whole world celebrate Hajj Festival on 26th Friday, even in Mekkah. But the locals have put it on Saturday.

    Dissappointment.

    Fazli Tuesday, 16 October 2012 03:19 PM

    Good ! Stand by it

Ado Thambiya Wednesday, 17 October 2012 12:00 AM

wel i am not sure if the the Ulema's (Religious schols) decision is manipulated in anyway. but normally when Saudi Arabia sites the moon it will take another day for it to apear in our time zone.. cos we are before them.. so if they see it 1st then we have to wait for the next day. via DM Android App

    Kaslana Tuesday, 16 October 2012 08:31 PM

Was observing Haj festival scheduled according to Dr. Mervin's calendar so that he can intervene in rituals involving animal sacrifice?

    Careem Tuesday, 16 October 2012 10:26 PM

I would like to see some of our learned ulama. They are a disgrace to the community.

Big Ears Wednesday, 17 October 2012 01:53 AM

The delusion and it goes on and on!

    xlntgson Wednesday, 17 October 2012 02:57 AM

If Saudi celebrates on 26th then we should celebrate the next day, it is in tradition, it is nothing to do with fear of hell fire etc. It is futile to argue which fear is good, for me fear of death is fear of God therefore not to lie for a material gain. If law is static and divine the crime rate would not be so high! If there is no clear definion of good and bad, overnight, laws are passed to reverse good into bad vice versa.

Little Johnny Wednesday, 17 October 2012 03:08 AM

If the festival falls on a friday, its not good for the ruler... so he shifted it to saturday... smart move MR...

    LankanFellow1com Wednesday, 17 October 2012 03:13 AM
