At least 10 people were injured following a grenade attack on a house in Rakwana this evening, police spokesman Priyashantha Jayakody told Daily Mirror online adding that the attack was a result of a personal dispute.
The attackers had lobbed the grenade into the house while the occupants were inside resulting in a blast which injured at least 10 people. The injured were rushed to the Rakwana hospital.
According to the police spokesman a long standing family dispute was believed to have been the cause of the attack and a special police team has been deployed to nab the suspects involved in the incident. (SD)

There appear to be lot of weapons out there that filtered into the society from the war.
Police and armed services must be more vigilant conducting searches flush out these weapons from the public.
In this instant, the perpetrators must be hounded and stringent long term punisment must be meted out.

The is something that is in the blood of Sri Lankans....they just don't like to see someone else doing well...they always need to hurt somebody and feel good. Why do you think we had a war for 30 years...starting from the riots in 1983 (black july)....this country has gone from bad to worse...

So sorry to hear about the victims. What is happening to our people? Are they loosig their minds? Earlier someone had killed a dog over a dispute. Is this the price we have to pay after a 30yr war?

This leads one to wonder how these common criminals aquire grenades, T56, 9mm pistols etc. to strike terror on ordinary cirizens. We also wonder where some of the LTTE ammo being discovered by the forces end up, hmmm!

it is my observation, that Sri Lankan society is very much violent oriented society
and society does not have ability to resolve problem through negotiation. As a result, there is always news about violence in Sri Lanka

Many people seem to be craving for money & power. Everyone wants to be rich, and make money fast. Everyone wants to live at the same level - some want a chicken feed from a thosai purse. SRI LANKANS ARE MENTALLY SICK. IN SPITE OF WHAT BUDDHISM TEACHES.
