The government is pointing fingers at the opposition and conducting a witch-hunt trying to cover themselves by taking action against opposition members, UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake told Daily Mirror online

In response to the government’s move to bring a no confidence motion against UNP deputy leader Karu Jayasuriya for his comment on war crimes, Mr. Attanayake also said that the UNP never blamed the military for eradicating the LTTE or said they engaged in any war crimes at any time.

“Things happen during a military conflict and it is the same in any conflict around the world, Mr. Attanayake said. (Daily Mirror online)
