Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera should understand that he is just holding a temporary post for 100 days !!! His party UNP is a minority party holding office without the consent of the people of SL. For 20/30 years of LTTE terrorism you did nothing and thousands of brave armed forces personnel laid down their lives. The diaspora Tamil organizations funded the terrorists and now you want to pander to their whims. Good luck to all who supported Yahapalanaya - sing the national anthem in Tamil - bloody disgusting !!!!

That is a good move. But it should go further to engage with them and find a long lasting political solution to the ethnic conflict between Tamils and Sinhalese in Sri Lanka.
Nanda Thursday, 19 March 2015 08:07 AM
Yes,let them come again, start terrorizing north and east then south..
Gamarala Thursday, 19 March 2015 01:16 PM
What a bunch of rubbish is this Minister talking about. The majority of the Diaspora Tmail organization in the West are all affiliated or have their sympathies with the LTTE and most of them belong to the left over remains of the LTTE rump in the West. The previous government did what was correct to proscribed these organizations in the West.

Minister I believe your approach is wrong. As of my knowledge most of the Diasporas abroad has no intention to help the country or tamil community either, rather than making living of it. In case if an individual is found not guilty the ban of him visiting to srilanka could be lifted. ----------------- @lanka . I being a tamil has an excellent knowledge in sinhala and of course I have has been singing the national anthem in my school our outside in sinhala. But I only understood the real meaning when i read it in tamil which I am more familiar with. It is just like a local language song more closer to our hearts rather than a western song. Tamil and Sinhala national anthem has the same meaning, so what is so offensive on it.

dilip Thursday, 19 March 2015 05:21 PM
LANKA you are a true child of Sri Lanka.God bless you for thinking straight.
kumar Thursday, 19 March 2015 05:31 PM
@lankaIf singing National Anthem in Tamil is bloody disgusting to you, the same applies to Tamils when Singing Anthem in Sinhala.
Ganesha Thursday, 19 March 2015 11:11 PM
If everybody gets together without any separate agenda for discrimination against each other especially the Government towards the reasonable request of the minorities ,nobody can think of separation and those who think on those line should be sent to jail for ever and ever till he or she dies there.
