Sunny J. The so called "patriotic" people dont need Gas: they use firewood. Very soon you can see them parading on streets like they used to do during Sirimavo's time: Will cook meals without gas; Will eat rice without curry; Will drink plain tea without milk

government should increase the prise of petrol and pay off gas companies by way of grants since almost all the people use gas and only the privileged few uses cars. if someone is rich enough to drive a car they should be able to pay for the petrol.

The last Minister waxed eloquently saying he was giving the relief to the public by removing the duty on the gas, though it meant a great loss of revenue to the Govt. So, why the increase now? Has the Govt. reimposed the duty? Did they love the people only because of the elections at that time? If the duty is not reimposed there is no need for the increase unless it was an election-gundu for the always carrot-eating masses! Also, the former Prime Minister is on record, advising the people "NOT to believe all what we say on election times!"

    'attractive' commodity, to increase prices?

    Wednesday, 28 April 2010 03:42 PM

Why this increase now ?, without oil price increasing and or economic increasing. The Public should protest these kinds of actions of the private companies. As they are working without conceren for the Public. The Govt. should take firm action in this regard.
