Former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi died of wounds suffered in his capture near his hometown of Sirte on Thursday, a senior NTC military official said.

National Transitional Council official Abdel Majid Mlegta told Reuters earlier that Gaddafi was captured and wounded in both legs at dawn on Thursday as he tried to flee in a convoy which NATO warplanes attacked.

"He was also hit in his head," the official said. "There was a lot of firing against his group and he died."

There was no independent confirmation of his remarks. (Reuters)

Dear readers and viewers of the brutal article of barberick act of slaughter of former depose Libyan leader. Folks he may have been a brutal and murderous dictator but the mob who overturn the regime with NATO, US and superpowers should be shamed to witness the footages of repeat public assault claimed to have been gardarfis general practice. Regrettably history will repeat at some point no matter who does what and what's goes around will definitely will come around. I wish all intelligent citizens of Libya good luck and bright haterence free future

First the news that NATO had bombed a convoy carrying Gaddafi who was possibly trying to flee or surrender. Next the rebel commanders stated that he was wounded and they had him in an ambulance on its way to hospital. Now the news is he was captured alive and then shot arriving at the hospital dead. Are NATO and their ground fighters guilty of war crimes? When will there be an investigation by whom and of whom - interesting questions which require answers.
