A fuel shortage at filling stations is being experienced today due to the delay in dispatching adequate supplies to the distributions centres, the CPC said adding however that the situation will return to normal by this evening.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Director of The Ceylon Petroleum Cooperation Methsiri Wijegoonawardena said that the delay had occurred due to a new computerized system being introduced, connecting the head office of the CPC to all its distribution centres.
He clarified that adequate supplies were available and that this delay would be sorted out and that supplies will go back to normal by the end of the day today.
