We are still getting it at the same price when the global market price was at it highest of around USD100/-. We cannot forget that we were getting it from Iran @ USD 120/-We never got a concession when price came down to USD 60/-

read between the lines bro. when ever HE says that "keep prices low despite world prices going up" this means world prices are going up and soon our prices will increase. Later The Minister will have to issue a statement "due to wolrd makt prices increase we are compeld to revise our price and avoid further losses..."

If you keep the SLFP union members and political appointees out from the petroleum corporation and allow managers to manage independently you can reduce the price at least Rs.10 per ltr in all products with out cheating the masses only during election periods.

Are you sure ? What entities are looking for billions of rupees in profit? CEB, Petroleum, Railway, Transport all are running at a loss.. Every citizen in the country is burdened by these losses.
I simply can't see why some people don't understand that even if a government gives something free, ultimately the people of the country is paying for that ...

Yes ! way to go.... The Govt entities are supposed to give a SERVICE to its citizens at a NOMINAL price. Most entities are looking for a billion rps profit at the end of the financial year. True all authorities departments and other govt bodies has to make a profit while servicing the citizens BUT let it be nominal and NOT be a burden to its citizenry.
