FSP won’t back Somawansa

The Frontline Socialist Party (FSP) which broke ranks with the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) some years ago said yesterday it would not back former JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe, who quit the party or the JVP itself.

FSP Central Committee Member Pubudu Jayagoda told Daily Mirror that the latest rift between Mr. Aramasinghe and the JVP was merely a policy issue.

He said the JVP’s current leader was more towards right-wing based politics and had tilted towards associating with right wing parties while Mr. Amarasinghe favoured a nationalistic line.

He said it was this policy difference that had led to the latest conflict.

However Mr. Jayagoda said the FSP was opposed to both ideologies and maintained a neutral position.

He expressed these views in response when asked whether the FSP would invite Mr. Amarasinghe to join its fold. (Yohan Perera)

By the way why is your Wingless Leader absconding? Do you know that he is a wanted man in Sri Lanka by the Immigration? Do you know that he was caught with bogus passports? Is he going to contest the Presidency?

No one can destroy the JVP, if not to the JVP MR would not be defeated, These are policies issues which could be sorted out, How many left and went to form political party better than the JVp and finally no one have done so, His age could be problem, he should be excused, just ignore, he will realize the mistake.

Why are these peripheral jokers given so much prominence - they cannot get just 10,000 votes islandwide. One mainstream politico will get 25000 votes in one electorate. Please leave these nondescript aside and give worthwhile news of real importance.

Anura Jagoda need to understand lenien said ideological deference lead to political parties, for the common cause unit. JVP still the leading, real communist party of the country. We must not believe only I am able to simplify and define politics. It has a history and lessons to learn not just from Jagoda or Dayan.
