A A A

The latest addition to the Mahavamsa, the great chronicle, relating to modern history of Sri Lanka from 1978 to 2010 will go into printing, the progress report of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs which was presented to Parliament recently had revealed.

According to the report, it will contain information with regard to the periods of Late President J. R. Jayawardene, Ranasinghe Premadasa, and former Presidents Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and Mahinda Rajapaksa. Accordingly it is likely that the details on the war would be included in the latest version of Mahavamsa. (YP)

The Mahvansa is excellent but it will not be anymore after this

Sach needs to be educated on the people who are going to enter it. Our "proud history" is going down the drain!

Well JR started well with liberal policy but got greedy. RP did a lot of service to poor and brought up the public service to really serve. Well cocky CBK messed up as she thought she was above all mortals and MR first did great service to politically lead against LTTE but he corrupted public life with his crony family. We never had a really balanced leader to get us across.

Not to disrespect any but to educate myself: Is the story of Singabahu was of Mahavamsha? and their origin correct?

Please do not mess up with our ancient epic. Who gave you the authority? Better start something like Medumulla Vamsa or even Thakuna Vamsa
