The Colombo Fort Magistrate today ordered the managers of two banks to freeze seven bank accounts belonging to Dhanuna Tillekaratne, the son-in-law of General Sarath Fonseka in line with the written proclamation on the absconding suspect.

When the matter pertaining to the controversial HiCorp deal was taken up for hearing today, the CID presented a report of assets belongs to the second suspect Dhanuna Tillekaratne.

Accordingly, the CID told Court that Rs.15 million and US$ 1251 had been deposited by the suspect at seven bank accounts. The CID further informed Court that other property belonging to Dhanuna had not been recovered and informed they were conducting further investigations.

Meanwhile, a warrant in English was issued for the arrest of Tillekaratne by the Magistrate Ms. Lanka Jayaratne in order to obtain Interpol assistance to arrest him.

Let them freeze bank accounts. don't come out. Definitely you will be hanged.

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 10:32 AM

So all this time he was free to dispose of his laundered money ? Why wasn't this initiative taken when he was first charged, or when he absconded ? Why he wasn't ordered to surrender his passport without waiting him to disappear overseas ? There are many similar instances. I suppose it is better to lock the stable door after the horse is stolen !
Either our legal system is archaic or the enforcers need educating.

Poor Danuna and his "MAMA" .They all hardly earn genuine money. It's very unfair to freeze them.

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 10:48 AM

How do we know whether he is absconding or being kidnapped by somebody.

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 10:52 AM

Oh Sri Lankans are sick and tired of this mega serial by the Police and the Courts. Its time that they settle this issue and move forward. Or the Police and the Courts could stagnate in this mud for ever.

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 10:57 AM

Hope the our court systems and CID are this motivated to locating and bring Mrs. Sicille Kotelawala, Sakvithi Ranasinghe to justice as well!

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 10:57 AM

Shall we stop this witch hunt and move on...obviously we are tired of this never ending probe saga by our beloved CID.

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 11:06 AM

Very good finding Mr. Roshan. But problem is his mother or his wife never come out with that !!!

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 11:10 AM

    How legal is this procedure?

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 11:13 AM

It should be "He has become a sri lankan joker"

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 11:14 AM

You did the same to Sakvithi & Ms Kotalawela...What is the out come of this. Again another joke to make laugh interpol staff...

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 11:15 AM

He is definitely not kidnapped, because his father in law recently admitted that he is absconding due to his mistrust about the system.

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 11:24 AM

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 12:07 PM

Those 08 suspects still remaining large should surrender or tomorrow or even their assests will be seized by the government.
At Least Dhanuna has never being found guilty by a court.

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 12:09 PM

This is treason. You will be hanged. If anyone doesn't obey the government they will be hanged.

    Wednesday, 09 June 2010 12:30 PM
