Foreigner disappeared after an altercation

A foreigner who jumped into the sea off Samudra Mawatha in Galle after an altercation with a woman has disappeared and navy divers are searching for the body.

Galle Police rushed to the scene on information from a fisherman and took charge of the bags and baggage left on the beach by him. The police found a laptop, a camera and clothes in the bag. Inquiries revealed that the victim was from Sweden and the woman concerned from Netherlands.

The woman who visited the scene last morning was called by the police to record her statement. (D.G. Sugathapala)

They come all the way to Sri Lanka as partners to enjoy their holiday and for some reason one ends himself up diving into the sea! Very sad.
