A woman from an affluent family in the Kohuwala area who eloped with a young man from Deniyaya returned to her parental home when she found that the young man was not in a position to provide her with the comforts she enjoyed earlier.

The 19 year old young woman who was the only child of a billionaire businessman and heir to a large estate fell in love with a security guard employed at a business establishment and eloped with him on June 13, 2010 and lived at his house at Mederipitiya in Deniyaya after marriage. However, before long she realized that the young man was not in a position to provide her with the luxuries she was accustomed to have.

Meanwhile her parents had made a complaint to Deniyaya Police against the young man. When the parties appeared before OIC Deniyaya Police, the young woman wanted to leave her husband and return to her parents.

Inquiries revealed that the young woman spent more than Rs.35,000 a month on clothes and cosmetics. Without the least concern for her husband’s pleadings not to leave and threat of suicide if she does, she climbed into her parents’ super luxury car and disappeared from the scene. What happens in the Hindi movie is farce and never happens in reality. What happened now is reality and the true human mind.

simple joe Wednesday, 04 August 2010 10:42 AM

what do u mean good lesson, marrying her must be the smartest move he must have done, now that they are married he can get a considerable amount of compensation from the divorce proceedings. either way its a win-win situation for him

    Tom Wednesday, 04 August 2010 10:44 AM

Parents think money can provide everything and this innocent girl wouldn't have had the love and affection that comes from home. Such girls fall prey to men who show a great affection and care. It is important to maintain a friendship with your children especially daughter than giving money for all activities. The time has come for parents to follow a course in child psychology as we live at a time when bollywood is dictating the way we should live, laugh and cry.

    RajasH Wednesday, 04 August 2010 10:46 AM

poor guy ..may have thought path to richness is seducing the heiress , he must have failed miserably in satisfying her other desires

Mr Lawyer Wednesday, 04 August 2010 11:47 PM

Why doesn't the security guard take her to court and seek half of all she owns unless a pre-nuptual agreement was signed?

Or maybe.....he could write a best selling novel on how he bagged a millionaire?

The opportunities are endless....think outside the box mr secuirty

    Sk Wednesday, 04 August 2010 10:52 AM

if this is a story other way around, rich boy and poor girl. .. story will end up, she giving birth to child with no father. Rich parents please try to educate your child with values & good education. Money will be come and go.

Gayan Thilakarathna Wednesday, 04 August 2010 10:54 AM

and here comes the moral police lurking...

    Sk Wednesday, 04 August 2010 10:56 AM

why did she come home? her parents have money & she is the only daughter so, why can't they share their money with some one poor ? is it a shame?

Smart Aleck Wednesday, 04 August 2010 10:58 AM

    Gunawathie Wednesday, 04 August 2010 11:12 AM

Nowdays girls are not stupid like the last generation. We still slog for our husbands, from day one unto death unpaid servants. Cooking, cleaning, washing, producing children, looking after them and being abused, too.

    Sammy Thursday, 05 August 2010 02:56 AM

Such type of love stories are good only for the movies. The greed for money & luxury overtakes all other emotions in today's world.

    SC Wednesday, 04 August 2010 11:18 AM
