The chairman of the Negombo Fishermens' Association Fernando said they have decided to not go to sea until the Government comes up with a viable solution to the fuel price hike.
The decision was made because the Minister of Fisheries had failed to come up with a substantial subsidy, the Chairman of the Association said.
"We are hoping to meet with the President on February 20 to discuss the matter and reach a solution," the Chairman said.
He also said that the Chilaw Fishermen's Collective would support them on their decision. (Sumaiya Rizvi)
