A fisherman was reportedly killed and several others injured when a clash erupted during a protest in Chilaw a short while ago.
Military spokesman Brigadier Nihal Hapuarchchi said that the Army had not been deployed to Chilaw to control the tense situation.
"The Puttalam Brigade Commander is there. But he had not been given instructions to send troops. We have two battalions in Puttalam which consist a contingent close to about 2,000 soldiers," he said. (SD)

That's right, junior citizen! Govt. has and will win all elections. Yes, it will, as long as people keep voting to the cheats, liars, fruit bats and two tongued-snakes and not against what they suffer whilst the EC kept hostage on election night!

A revolt would be the finest solution to show the dis-approval of what govt is doing right now... But who's gonna take the lead? Nobody believes what JVP says, UNP has in-house crisis which the Top's biggest marathon is to save his leadership rather than saving the country. Only solution seems to me is - a spearhead leading by genuine SLFP members and rebellious govt members.
