A fire broke out at the Pensioners division in the fourth floor of the Education Ministry building Isurupaya this morning, police said.
According to the police the documents in the Pensioners division have been destroyed. It is suspected that the fire started from an air-conditioner plant, police said.
The fire brigade managed to douse the fire and no injuries have been report. (Pix by Pradeep Dilrukshana)

In this day and age, if they do not have computerized records and back-up records stored in various sites, then one should question the Minister of Education and responsible officials why they do not have such records and then sack the whole lot if the answers are not up to snuff!
