A Five Star hotel is charged ONLY Rs.4'000 ? why not USD 4'000 ? these hotels think they are operating in Europe or USA because the prices on a normal menu , breakfast or dinner is approx. rs. 2'000 per head. So when we charge Rs. 4'000 for a stock in the refrigerated store or a cool room you have to know the value of the stock first and charge them 10 times the value because they will sell ONE sausage for Rs.2000 on the menu.
WHO gave them the approval as FIVE star to operate in Sri Lanka. ???? I guess we have to get them to give samples and a check list of all Frozen Food stored for further inspection and start observing strict Sri Lankan Standard on Food and Beverage control on goods which we consume in the Five Star Hotels.
They should NOT ask any questions BUT sack the F&B Manager , Chef , Store Keeper and the Food Controller/Inspector working for this Five Star Hotel

what a joke? This is peanut money for a 5 star hotel. I would have thought 4 million or at least 400k rupees. He will not hesitate to do it again since he only has to pay 4000 if he gets caught again.
