Excise officers seize containers of ethanol

Two containers believed to contain ethanol worth about Rs.40 million were seized at Thotalanga by Excise officers this evening, sources said

Each container carried 155 barrels of 200 litre capacity, which are believed to be filled with ethanol. The total volume of the contents is 62000 litres. The suspicious containers had arrived from Vietnam. They are to be opened tomorrow in the presence of Sri Lanka Customs Department officers. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
