Ex-Narahenpita OIC arrested by BC sleuths

Former Narahenpita OIC Chief Inspector Upul Dammika Gunathilaka was arrested by Bribery Commission (BC) sleuths a short while ago in connection with a bribe of Rs.2.5 million said to have been accepted by the Crimes OIC last week, Commission’s Director General Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe said.

The OIC was earlier transferred to Ampara Police this week by IGP N.K. Illangakoon.

Narahenpita Crimes OIC was remanded on charges of having obtained a bribe of Rs.2.5 million on the undertaking that legal action would not be taken against a businessman.(Kurulu Koojana Kariyakarawam)

    He did not offer - thebribe was demanded by the OIC and hence he complained.
