No opposition

Emergency was extended by another month by Parliament a short while ago without a vote being called for as most opposition members were absent. Usually a vote is taken in Parliament to seek an extension of the emergency.

However opposition members were absent to call for a vote with most of them taking part in protests outside parliament against the 18th ammendment.

    Geronimo.So are we. the way our rights are taken off we too are dead.Of course you migth not be living in Sri Lanka or may be you are a beneficiary from this Govt.If no opposition there is no democracy.So means we have a dictatorship.Dont be so happy abt it.
