An electric lamp ripped off from its post and stolen from the Welipanna Resort Zone of the Southern Expressway was found dropped by someone near the Kurundugahahathekma entry/exit point, police said.

They said the security camera system which had failed to operative at that time due to the disconnection of the power supply made it possible for the culprits to remove the electric lamp.

This Resort Zone was declared open by President Mahinda Rajapaksa last Thursday.

How can our country develop. First our people need to be patriotic for the country to change as a whole. Just the laws in place will not do it. Ive seen moms give the kids toffes and throw the wrappers. A few times I asked the wrappers from the moms and put in my pocket, to be thrown in the trash can. How can we expect a better environment for our kids, if we do not show em the way forward...?

Ask not what the country can do for you, but what you can do for the country............

The only difference is that elsewhere the wrongdoers are punished - not allowed to roam free and continue with antisocial acts?
