Eight arrested with Prabhakaran posters

Jaffna Security Forces Commander Mahinda Hathurusinghe said today eight people were arrested at Kodikarmam in Jaffna on charges of having in their possession posters containing the picture of former LTTE leader Vellupillai Parabhakaran.

He alleged that they were campaigning for the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) at the elections to the Northern Provincial Council.

Major General Hathurusinghe said at the time of the arrest they had some 300 such posters and that several others too were known to be having these posters in their possession.

Police said this was the first time such posters have been found in the Northern Province since the war ended in 2009. (Supun Dias)

We were enforceable given Prabakarans photo together with Vigneswaran' photo by TNA supporters.They force us to vote for TNA.TNA is agent of LTTE. We can remember very well how we were treated by LTTE & TNA those days. You F...kers no chances in future.

So what if these people posses posters or pictures or other memorabilia of a dead rebel leader. I think a person has a right to own anything that is deemed legal such as posters of anything (especially when not openly displayed). Such matters are quite trivial and insignificant enough to be omitted in the current news. Seriously, who cares!!!
