The Sri Lankan government will present its first draft of proposed solutions to New Delhi in June, Asiantribune quoted government sources as saying.

The proposals will be presented by President Mahinda Rajapakse to Indian Premier Dr. Manmohan Singh as well as the President of India Pratibha Patil in June during President Rajapakse's official visit to New Delhi.

President Mahinda Rajapakse is scheduled to visit India for official discussions on an invitation by Indian Premier Dr. Manmohan Singh.

Among key suggestions in Sri Lanka's draft proposals to New Delhi are the implementation of the 13th Amendment and increase of Provincial Council powers, increasing minority involvement through a newly created 'Senate Chamber' and new measures to ensure equality among all Sri Lankans, Asiantribune reported.

What a stupid bunch we all are. We are screaming at UN for porking their finger in to our Internal Matters. While we are taking proposals to India. Then what the tamil says is true Sri Lanka does not belong to Singhala People but to Tamils. Then I guess MR will have to bring that proposal to Muslim and European Countries also after there are Muslims & Christians as a minority so they too should discuss what the said proposals are.

I am surprised to see that Hon. Wimal Weerawansa has not made a remark. India is a powerful country in the region and we have a lot of things to do with India at national level hence an endorsement from India is a must to go ahead with the devolution process. But one thing is certain that India will keep a close eye on the implementation of it.

This is very good move. There is no point in showing a proposal to any political party in Sri Lanka, as they will always find fault in it. It is best to work with India and get the hooligans to shut-up and get the government that has got the mandate to execute the proposal. This is the only way forward to us Tamils to stay peaceful in Sri Lanka.

Useless drafting so many documents - PLEASE IMPLEMENT WHAT IS ALREADY THERE - like the 13th & 17th Amendments. Expedite the independent Constitutional, Police, Bribery & Elections Commissioners. What has India got to do with our solutions.
we seem to be holding candles to India & China - for what. I though we need home-grown solutions.

No point in presenting draft solution. It is now more than 60 years, the ethnic problem has not been resolved.Better the President go to India with a firm proposal to the problem.
