He was a good and a very popular Doctor with a flourishing private practice.

He had an equally bad reputation as a man who made money at any cost.

I am sad at the loss of a human life. But, he was up to a lot of mischief. If he had any sense at all, he would never have nominated a scoundrel like Mervyn Silva for a doctorate. As head of the Sports Medicine unit, he also allowed unqualified (with only six months training in acupuncture) persons operate a medical practitioners in the sports ministry. This is what I have heard.

Janaki, I do not know what sort of a human being are you to talk bad like this about a deceased person (actually this goes to you and other people like Raja, Asoka abeywardana and Sapumal Bandara too) . What is more funny is that you ending yr statement saying “this is what I heard”. If you can bad mouth a person b’cos of something you “heard”, I think it shows what sort of a human being you are. And on the other hand, look at the comments that other people have given. They praise him not because of something they “heard”, but because of their own experience. He was a life saver and a pain reliever. He gave hope to uncountable number of people. I really don’t care who he gave doctorates to or how much money he made. What matters to me is the service he provided to mankind with his talents and knowledge. He was a god to many. I am sure if yourself or one of your loved once had to go to him as a patient and got his service (and with that, hope to live), you will not badmouth him.
