The Colombo Fort Magistrate has ordered the CID to confiscate the property of Dhanuna Tillekaratna, the son-in-law of General Sarath Fonseka after he failed to appear in court for the HiCorp case before a deadline of 9.00 a.m. today

Accordingly a sum of Rs. 15 million and US $1251 which is stored in seven bank accounts belonging to Dhanuna Tillekaratne will be confiscated.

The CID is investigating if there are any additional properties owned by Dhanuna and will present the information in court soon.

The Fort Magistrate had last month ordered the CID to publish a written proclamation for Dhanuna Tillekaratne to appear in court on June 30 at 9.00 a.m. and said the proclamation must be put up in the Court premises, certain public places and near his residence.

So many are evading the courts for unmemorable time. Why not them? Law of Sri Lanka applies only to one family?

On what grounds was this done? Typical government vendetta against the family of the General. Was it proven in court that this money was ill gotten? if no they have to prove it before they confiscate any of it. This is daylight robbery by the GOSL
