The civilians who have been recently resettled in the north have complained to the Government Agent (GA) in Kilinochchi that the land which was forcefully taken away from them by the LTTE is not being returned by the army, Military sources told Daily Mirror online
However according army sources the land owners had sold the land to the LTTE and had used the funds to send their children aboard.
Some of the significant plots of land include the land used to house the LTTE administration office and LTTE head quarters as well as the land previously used by slain LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran.
Discussions regarding these land issues are scheduled to take place between the GA and the army next week. (Daily Mirror online)
