Sports Minister C. B. Ratnayaka, speaking to reporters in Colombo today, said that the Sri Lanka Cricket board is the third most corrupt institution in the country behind the Education and Police departments.

He also warned the cricket officials that they could end up in Court if they are found guilty of any misdeeds.

    Monday, 31 May 2010 11:39 PM

hats off to mr Rajapaksa appointing the right man for the job.

    Tuesday, 01 June 2010 12:27 AM

This shows that the minister has no idea of what he is talking about. There is far more corruption outside than in the cricket board. DM once accused SLT of being corrupt when he was minister for telecommunications when he couldn't give jobs to his stooges because the Japanese CEO refused it. This may be a similar case. The police are obviously corrupt. But most corrupt are customs, courts (specially magistrates), harbour and even offices like BOI which have been repeatedly exposed. The SLCB is far down in the list. What is the minister going to do about it?

    Tuesday, 01 June 2010 12:30 AM

Mr.Ratnayake nseems to be a very honest politician.I do not even know this gentleman. But for him to come and openly say , it is great. But my feeling is in Sri Lanka if you are honest you have no support. Honest politicians do not stay for long. Keep up the good work Mr. Ratnayake.

    Monday, 31 May 2010 08:46 AM

    Monday, 31 May 2010 08:19 AM

Now, which way you want to go? Do you want to become No1 or clean it up altogether?

    Monday, 31 May 2010 08:24 AM

well said Mr.CB. pleases do as you say!

    Monday, 31 May 2010 08:26 AM

    very correct.

    Monday, 31 May 2010 08:27 AM
