A cricket fan spotted in the nude at a public location in Kollupitiya over the Sri Lanka Cricket team’s win against the West Indies in the ICC World T20 Semi-Final last Thursday (03) was ordered to pay a fine of Rs. 2,500 by a Colombo Court.

Producing the suspect before Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage, the Kollupitiya police stated that the suspect had watched the semi-finals match of the ICC World T20 Championships through a giant screen put up at the Liberty Plaza building in Kollupitiya and on being overjoyed at the Sri Lankan team’s victory, he had celebrated it in an unruly manner.

Police further informed that the suspect was behaving in an indecent manner under the influence of liquor at the premises of a leading school in Kollupitiya.

The suspect, a resident of Mount Lavinia pleaded guilty to the charges and thereby was ordered to pay the fine of Rs. 2,500. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

Winning a game is something whereas Discipline is something else.

You cannot allow an indiscipline person to play havoc in a public location. How the parents and children at this location have a decent environment to enjoy a match?

This person should be given the maximum punishment.

May be after inebriating with over enthusiasm he may have tried to show off his cricketing prowess with the bat and ball he possessed at that time. Poor soul I don't think he meant any harm to others. via DM iPad app
