Weeks after the police cordoned off a Sri Lankan football team that left the city in a hurry, the police increased the protection inside the city airport as a 22-member soccer team from the Emerald isle landed in Chennai to take a transit flight to Mauritius.
Arriving at Chennai international airport on UL 121, the athletes were guarded carefully from 3 am to 8 am.
A police official said that the instructions had been clear, to watch Lankan movement, in the airport. (ENS)
