    Thursday, 01 April 2010 05:56 AM

    Police is for Thugs

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 06:13 AM

What is the point in reprimanding these Police stooges, they are already naked in civil society. Isn't their any legal provision to punish errant Police officers who fail to act legally?

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 06:28 AM

Our police break all barriers in intellectuality!

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 06:32 AM

The learned Magistrate should have ordered the Police to arrest these 16 and remand them atleast until the elections are over because they are a threat to the smooth conduct of the elections.

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 06:35 AM

With the judical system in order there is hope for our country. Thank you.

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 01:12 PM

If the judiciary is strong enough, there won't be such incidence taking place. Ridiculous democracy is what we practice in sri lanka.

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 06:44 AM

no need no use......If they even comes to the court no use.....Again they will go free. and the case is also over....

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 06:48 AM

I am very pleased to hear the good news. Hats off to justice in some sort in this un-democratic country

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 07:00 AM

First DIG should obey the Election Commissioner & be an example to others !.

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 01:56 PM

Hon. Sir Judge - Please remand the police officer who took the decision to release the culprits

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 01:59 PM

Wel done Hon. Judge, Police has no moral or Brain. We salute your decesion. It certainly a brave decesion at present climate.

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 07:29 AM

Well done judiciary. It is the last bastion of justice. The AG's department was once better than it was now. Now it is totally politicised. No hope of justice there.

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 02:28 PM

SL Police is only a puppet controlled by the Government Mafia

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 07:46 AM

Orders came from the topso there was no time I guess!!
    hahaahaha

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 08:07 AM

Well said Hon.Judge. Now a days Policemen don't know what their duties are. The whole country and the world saw what took place that day at MTV.

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 03:26 PM

This order will have only a little or no impact pecause under MR regime ruling party MPs including their supporters and Police do not care law and order.

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 08:32 AM

The Magistrate should be commended. I being an ordinary layman was surprised to note why the suspects were released on a Police Bail & without a date being fixed. Thank U Hon Magistrate Sir!

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 04:43 PM

Well done, your honour! Hope that you will not be transferred.

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 09:05 AM

A sigh of relief, at least a little!

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 09:20 AM

They should arrest the OIC who granted the bail, just reprimanded is no enough.

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 09:23 AM

What can the police do when Court Jester of Kelaniya gives orders to them. If they don't obey him, they will be thrown to cold water.

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 09:27 AM

A fearless and straightforward Law abiding Magistrate. In the present context the country needs people of this calibre. Long live and may the almighty protect the magistrate from the evil.

    Thursday, 01 April 2010 09:30 AM

this country can go a little further with the existance of handful of these judges, We respect them !
