A police sergeant and another suspect were arrested while transporting 25 timber logs in a tipper in the Anuradhapura town, Division Four senior DIG Jayantha Gamage said.
The policeman is attached to the Udanmaluwa police post and was arrested by a special police team after they received a tip off from public about the illegal transportation.
The suspects were produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate this morning, DIG Gamage said. (SD)
