CID to get JMO report on Shashi

Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya today permitted the CID to obtain a report from the Judicial Medical officer on the health condition of Shashi Weerawansa, who was earlier arrested on charges of obtaining a diplomatic passport by producing fraudulent documents.

The CID, in a motion filed in Court sought permission to obtain a medical report on former minister Wimal Weerawansa’s wife Sashi who had admitted herself to a private hospital in Malabe. (TFT)

Its a sad state of affairs - the people of this country especially the politicians, drug dealers takes the courts to a ride whenever an arrest order is made! Is it a lame legal system...!

Why do people resort to a fraud and apply for a different passport with a changed name and changed date of birth?Normally if a western country (USA, UK, EU etc) has refused a visa, they put a stamp on the passport that Visa refused, and normally one cannot apply again fo a visa for that countryIn the case of Mrs Weerawansa, Police spokesman says they cannot trace the papers relating to her application for two NICs. Why not check from US, UK, EU embassies to see if any visa has been refused on the old passport?
