A tour guide arrested on the charge of having swindled a Chinese woman out of US$ 900 after taking her on a trishaw ride around the Colombo city was ordered to be remanded till October 31 by a Colombo Court.
Making a complaint before Kollupitiya police, the Chinese woman Chu Yeili stated that she arrived in Sri Lanka on October 14 and stayed at a hotel in Colombo.
The next day, a person who introduced himself as a tour guide promised to take her sightseeing around the Colombo City. The complainant further stated that the suspect who hired a trishaw for the tour solicited a sum of 1200 US$, which she had parted with. Subsequently, she had come to know that the suspect had cheated her of 1100 US$ and she had conveyed this message to him through another tour guide, after which the suspect had returned US$200 saying he had charged 100 US$ for his guide services and US$ 900 was the cost of hiring the trishaw.
The complainant alleged that the tour guide had overcharged her for the tour and cheated her of 900 US$.
When the suspect Sanjeewa Wijesinghe was produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate, he was ordered to be remanded till October 31. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

It's not Robert. It was agreed by both parties. So what's the issue? Arrest all the businessmen and women in SL. The tourist should have checked prices before agreeing to go on the tour.

If it's official it's likely not to be illegal (not enough to be challenged in the courts anyway) . Buyer at least knows what's in store for them
