Chinese woman arrested at BIA

A 35-year-old Chinese woman was arrested at the BIA while attempting to smuggle out gems worth Rs.4 million to Beijing, this morning, Customs Media Spokesperson Leslie Gamini said.
 
Mr. Gamini said 39 varieties of gems weighing more than one kilo were found in her bag. She was reported to have arrived four times to Sri Lanka as a tourist. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
